"I am a painter living, working, and studying in London. I’m a collector of objects, particularly those gathering dust. I write, occasionally, and I very rarely read. I work instinctively; my practice is concerned with experience. Each piece is an exploration of outmoded ontology - the essence of being ‘of the past.’ I paint on wood, with oils - materials peeling away from the new. The piece exhibited at Vacuum Exhibition, ‘In A Room With Your Lover, And Another Walks Through The Door,’ was made from a stolen wooden panel, pinched from a building site across the road from my house. Most of my materials are procured this way. It adds an element of unpredictability to the whole affair. The outmoded is not just the aged, but also the forgotten, the ‘left-behind.’ This is not an obsession with antiques, but a fondness for the character of the unremembered."
